Biography: Tero Mustonen

Tero Mustonen (Master of Social Sciences, PhD in 2009) is a traditional Finn living in the village of Selkie, North Karelia, Finland. He is the head of his 300 people village. He lives in a 200 year old traditional Karelian house without running water.

Mr. Mustonen has been selected into the Indigenous Peoples Climate Change Assessment Steering Committee in September 2008. Mustonen works in the Snowchange Cooperative (www.snowchange.org) which is connected with several Indigenous and local communities of the Circumpolar Arctic. Snowchange contributed to the Saami case studies of the intergovernmental Arctic Climate Impact Assessment (ACIA) report in 2004. Snowchange Cooperative will work closely with the Russian Indigenous communities as well as the Saami communities proponed to be included into the IPCCA.
